Conversations: Meet the Editor and Author

Faber editor Hannah Griffiths and novelist Bernardine Evaristo examine the relationship between editor and author, from the moment at which the manuscript lands on the editor’s desk, to promoting the book after it hits the shelves.

Hannah Griffiths and Bernardine Evaristo examine the relationship between editor and author, from the moment at which the manuscript lands on the editor’s desk, to promoting the book after it hits the shelves. Hear the story from the point of view of both author and editor, and have the chance to ask them your questions.

Editor, Hannah Griffiths has worked in publishing since 1992. Starting out in the publicity departments at Penguin and Virago, she went on to Co-found The Literary Consultancy in 1996. She is currently Head of Paperbacks at Faber & Faber.

Interviewer, Bernardine Evaristo’s fourth novel Blonde Roots is published this June. She co-edited the British Council/Granta anthology NW15 (New Writing 15) last summer. She has taught creative writing worldwide and currently writes a column for Mslexia magazine.
