This lecture is part of the 'Human Culture, Non-human World' series, and is an analysis of the representation of apes and humans in modern literature and theory. Dr McKay has published a number of essays on the ethics of animal representation and is completing a study of animals in contemporary fiction. He is a member of the Animal Studies Group.
