The Silent Aircraft Initiative

Dr Tom Hynes describes the physics of why aircraft are noisy before discussing the results of the recent Silent Aircraft Initiative – a collaborative effort between the University of Cambridge, MIT and others – showing, with the aid of demonstrations, how novel aircraft of the future could be a great deal quieter.
