cnet — google takes on lecture-hall chaos

This is a good idea (if you think democracy is the right way to make decisions). It's a tool which lets lecture-goers reveal questions they'd like to ask and then lets the audience vote for the one they most want answered.

Meanwhile I think I just heard Steve Jones on the BBC Today podcast saying that evolution was like riding a bike in that if you stop moving you fall off. I think part of his message is that we haven't stopped yet.
