Learn the Indian embroidery technique of Phulkari.
Phulkari or ‘flower work’ is a floss stitch worked from the back of the fabric so that it is visible only from the front. Human figures, animals, and fully geometric motifs were used to decorate a wide range of articles including wedding shawls, bags, wall hangings or bed-covers. Students will learn Phulkari stitch techniques and develop their own distinctive motifs. Open to all skill levels. In the Studio.
